Stone Man Island defines the western quarters of a private island estate on Lake Huron, using light to reinforce a stone perimeter built around seasonal high water reality. A cohesive, dappled ground rhythm, textures and subtle luminance gradients guide movement without breaking calm continuity, while targeted grazing and shadowing elevate key elements like the archway.  Limited Imagery due to agreed upon NDA parameters.

Features

  • Daytime Shadow imitation
Subtle dappling is introduced across the ground plane, echoing the quality of sunlight two to three hours before sunset. This creates a seamless transition from early evening into night for continuity and comfort.
  • Perimeter
Controlled illumination along the outer edge gives the space structure and visual containment. At night, this boundary reinforces clarity, comfort, and a heightened sense of security.
  • Grazing Naturally Textured Structures
Selective vertical grazing draws out the inherent texture of the existing arbor and masonry, enhancing material authenticity and reinforcing architectural character.
